چکیده

The concentrations of plasminogen and fast-acting antiplasmin were measured in 65 normal plasmas and matched sera. Concentrations were decreased in serum by 38% for plasminogen and 32% for fast-acting antiplasmin. The decrease in plasminogen level was due to both adsorption of plasminogen to fibrin and reaction with antiplasmin.

Preparation of Plasminogen by Affinity Chromatography

Background: Plasminogen is one of the compounds derived from human plasma. Activation of plasminogen produces plasmin. Plasmin is able to lyse fibrinogen, fibrin, and some other human plasma proteins. The aim of the present work was to study the separation of human plasminogen by affinity chromatography using gel lysine Sepharose. Materials and Methods: Normal human plasma was used as the...

Regulation by a,-Antiplasmin and Fibrin of the Activation of Plasminogen With Recombinant Staphylokinase in Plasma

The effects of a,-antiplasmin and fibrin on the activation of plasminogen by recombinant staphylokinase (STAR) were studied in an effort to elucidate further the molecular basis of the fibrin-specificity of this fibrinolytic agent. In purified systems consisting of 1.5 pmol/L intact or low-M, plasminogen and 3 pmol/L a,-antiplasmin, at 37°C and in the absence of fibrin, STAR did not induce plas...

Regulation by alpha 2-antiplasmin and fibrin of the activation of plasminogen with recombinant staphylokinase in plasma.

The effects of alpha 2-antiplasmin and fibrin on the activation of plasminogen by recombinant staphylokinase (STAR) were studied in an effort to elucidate further the molecular basis of the fibrin-specificity of this fibrinolytic agent. In purified systems consisting of 1.5 mumol/L intact or low-M(r) plasminogen and 3 mumol/L alpha 2-antiplasmin, at 37 degrees C and in the absence of fibrin, ST...

On the mechanism of fibrin-specific plasminogen activation by staphylokinase.

The mechanism of plasminogen activation by recombinant staphylokinase was studied both in the absence and in the presence of fibrin, in purified systems, and in human plasma. Staphylokinase, like streptokinase, forms a stoichiometric complex with plasminogen that activates plasminogen following Michaelis-Menten kinetics with Km = 7.0 microM and k2 = 1.5 s-1. In purified systems, alpha 2-antipla...

Antithrombin III, plasminogen, plasmin, and alpha-2-antiplasmin in donor blood and plasma components.

The functional levels of antithrombin III, plasminogen, plasmin, and alpha-2-antiplasmin were evaluated in sequentially derived fresh frozen plasma, cryoprecipitate, and cryo-poor plasma aliquots from 20 registered blood donors. Antithrombin III is the major plasma inhibitor of the serine proteases of the procoagulant system. Plasminogen, the proenzymatic form of plasmin, is the primary endogen...
